“All the classic Simpsons episodes on Disney+ are in cropped widescreen format”
People are b****ing about “missing out on visual jokes” due to the cropping tbh who gives AF, we got all the Simpsons seasons on one streaming app. Man ppl are so ungrateful
People give af because the zoom+crop was entirely unnecessary. It has no practical purpose.

Damn near every tv in a person’s home is widescreen nowadays, they’re just adopting to the masses

Because square boxes have been largely replaced by widescreens in most homes. But that has nothing to do with changing the aspect ratio of something to fit a screen it was never meant to be on. That's literally one of the reasons widescreen tvs in the home became a thing...to reduce the need for "this broadcast has been reformatted to fit your screen" which delivers an inferior product.
"Adapting to the masses" isn't a thing here, much less being practical, because it hasn't been a issue discussed by any significant amount of consumers. Look at any streaming service that offers tv shows from pre-widescreen days, and 99% of them are streamed in 4:3 like they should be. Disney has inexplicably said "screw that" and decided to zoom+crop certain shows, which is entirely unnecessary while also cutting out content.
If there was any need to "adapt to the masses" then you'd have seen every other major service change the aspects of old shows a long time ago. At the very least, Disney+ could have an option to view cropped content in its original aspect ratio, but that's not available AFAIK.

I already assumed that from your posts about it fam. I was just explaining why the people you were criticizing do care, and why their complaints are justified.
Was that really "such a long explanation" though?
