Walt Disney Studios has found its next live-action remake of one of their animated films with Hercules; we have exclusively learned.

The studio has tapped Jeffery Silver (The Lion King, Tron: Legacy) and Karen Gilchrist (The Lion King, The Mandalorian) to produce. The film is expected to be a theatrical release, not a Disney+ original like Lady and the Tramp, as well as Robin Hood and Lilo & Stitch both in pre-production.

Might actually be the first live action disney movie I watch, depending on Mulan

This is one of the few Disney movies that could work as a live action remake

Look up the boxoffice numbers of their remakes, then you know why.

The Gospel Truth is still the best opening song in a Disney movie and the competition is stiff.

I feel like with this one, would be a great time to blend the cartoony elements with the live action. Like the designs for the Hydra, Phil, the centaur etc should be more stylized rather than a realistic approach. If they can find a good blend with that and nail down the casting with the muses, then this could be something.

But it won’t because Disney hasn’t learned jack s*** with these live action remakes, so I don’t have faith

GOAT movie, has potential depending on how they spin it. Never cared for the other remakes
