This sort of criticism is so stupid. If it’s harmful than the original film is and Disney should just wipe it out of existence and stop promoting it on their platforms. These conversations are so tiring and circular. Art/media doesn’t have the power that people promoting these sorts of changes believe it does.

I hate to say it but I’m glad they didn’t cast HER just because of how bad the backlash would’ve been, but people will still probably be mad about this girl too

I guess the issue with the dwarves is they kind of always were presented as mythical creatures and not people, I don’t really know if replacing such iconic characters makes sense tho, and I really don’t feel like listening to the righties cry about it

I feel like he was hasty to comment before they've unveiled all their plans for the film

But his point is right that would be hilarious to think that Disney is being progressive by having a Latina Snow White if the other factors in the film like 7 almost child like less than human dwarves were the same

I think it's fair for him to think that the plans for their progressive take on the 7 dwarves part should be what they lead with over Snow White being latina

Tyrion was a regular ass human who suffered a lot of discrimination for having dwarfism bro , it was a progressive character. He's not saying that there shouldn't be dwarf characters just they shouldn't be like a separate fantastical species.

At least I'm guessing not if it means dehumanising them as they historically have been, I don't know his exact opinion on the whole magic fantasy dwarf thing. but I'm guessing what he wants and is fighting for is just more regular human dwarf representations
