This album wasn't really intended to move units though. CLB had billboards announcing features, months notice, etc. this was a dance record dropped on 4 hours notice.

imma have to disagree respectfully. drake has reached a level where he doesn't need promo its been like that since 2016. people just didnt like the music. If CLB was a surprise drop it wouldve done the same 600k

It's not house in the european-centric, sense, but house as in afro-house (see Black Coffee, one of the executive producers, discography). It's hardly dancehall, but has island riddims mixed in throughout several instrumentals in the album.
