No one is using recency bias, Drake has been a gifted rapper/songwriter his entire career, that’s why people listen to him.
Kanye was strong as a lyricist from 2004-2011, and even then he always had a team of writers surrounding him helping him on every album. There’s nothing wrong with that, but you can’t totally attribute those albums 100% to him from a writing perspective

2. It’s not ghostwriting if the writer is credited
3. Quentin worked with Drake on one project, whereas Kanye’s writers have been working with him his entire solo career since day one
If you wanna exclude IYRTITL from the argument of Drake being a great rapper, fine, but if we’re playing by those rules literally no Ye album can be counted since he has writing help on every single project
