Now as for Drake, in his defense, he’s still in his moment commercially. If he came back and did a big concert after people turned away from him, and went through his catalogue, I think people would be like “oh yeah drake is a legend…he had to remind us.” Nostalgia and legacy is a more important currency than someone who’s very familiar in the mainstream right now and has been easily accessible every year thru music output.
It’s just they’re at different career points. I still enjoy Kanye’s music a lot more but Drake will have that Hoover Concert moment too one day.
