None of Tim's prior albums did well until he got the JT stimulus
He only had one solo album prior to Shock Value in 98 and the lead single had Magoo on it.
Shock Value was the result of his crazy 2000s run + his great production on FS/LS in my opinion
I can't tell if these niggas are trolling me, but it's self explanatory that comparing these old albums before streaming to the current market doesn't make sense
And I don't even know what the stimulus is supposed to be in Timbaland's case. He was making songs with Jay, Missy Elliot, JT, Nelly Furtado before this album. There's no clear NLU equivalent for him
But that album really did well, was not expecting 5th on the charts
Your post didn't say anything about it having to be in the streaming era. Stop moving the goalposts now

I shouldn't have to, it's self explanatory
The market is completely different now. Someone brought up Kanye West, his debut sold 400k first week. Barely anybody doing that now, definitely not on their debut
Who are you even attributing Timbaland stimulus to? JT? Nelly Furtado? Jay Z? Missy Elliot? Omarion? Bro was producing hits for so many artists, there's no clear recent hit single before Shock Value like there is for Mustard
Not sure why Mustard got upset. 18K isn't that bad for a producer, especially not for a has-been. When was his last big song before NLU? 2020 or 2021? His style just isn't exciting anymore and I say that as someone who has multiple Mustard produced songs in my all time fave songs from the 2010s. Besides, that tracklist was never going to pull big numbers.
As for the other bullshit he started posting on twitter.. I don't think I've ever seen a so-called winning side crash out as often as Kendrick & Friends (& stans).
It really says a lot about the whole situation and the underlying aspects of it.
When a worker stands next to a boss, they get delusional and begin to think they are a boss themselves.
I know, I got delusional myself, standing next to a boss.
This what is happening here, he think he is on Kenny level.
It's really sad that artists themselves get this upset about album sales, leave that s*** to the weirdos

Maneater
Promiscuous
Say It Right
3 hits produced by Timbaland for just 1 of the artists I named, 2 of them went #1, on an album which dropped just 3 months before FS/LS. Ice Box also dropped after those but before Shock Value
You can't attribute the success of Shock Value solely to Timbaland's work on FS/LS. It's not the same as Mustard and NLU
Mustard crashing out hard
Crine
Disagree.
If this album sold well I guarantee people would say it was because of NLU and Kendrick. I can see the tweets now saying the Kendrick stimulus is better than the Drake stimulus.
But because it didn't sell well people are saying Kendrick has nothing to do with it.
We’re talking about what actually happened though. Hate when niggas have to resort to hypotheticals and make that their argument 100%
make sure you post @GordoSZN first week since drake thought he did a thing with making him drop on the same day as me 😂
man that got me crine
Rooting for Mustard to do well
Don’t think he did himself any favors with the combination of that album title (not a bad title on its own) + the Tom from MySpace album cover. Could’ve used a better presentation

cover should have been ice spice
