Isn't Mustard the one who said he was grateful to Kendrick for NLU because it meant he didn't even need a rollout for his album? My guess is that he either thought Kendrick would let him put the song on his album or he thought the hype of the song would spill over into excitement for his album. Neither of those things happened and now he's upset. When he thought he debuted with 40k units, he wasn't crying. When he realized he actually debuted with 18k units, he goes online crashing out like a f***ing b**** over Drake who never did anything to him lmao.
No way Mustard would think that dot would let him put NLU on the album lol but he did hope to work with Kendrick for the longest. The album was ayt tho, nothing stood out
I know. Clearly Mustard had higher expectations for his album and after what NLU did.. it’s just funny, especially after the crash out. That’s all.
Musty on the charts ho

they don’t like rap/hip-hop like that outside of Drake, they’ve shown that many times over lol
you should’ve seen the Mos Def thread where they were asking who he was and what he ever did for hip-hop like the dude isn’t a legend

I mean, he probably doesn't think Kendrick will be putting a diss track on his own album. I definitely don't think he's happy that Kendrick didn't give him a verse or even shout out his album in any way.

yeah there was nothing wrong with what Mos Def said lol I might've defended Drake in his early days but he's completely given up on trying to gain respect in the rap world and just continues to chase trends.
when's the last time he's worked with a rapper or producer from a past era or who didn't fit the mainstream landscape? it makes me think he was only into 90's rap & backpack rap earlier in his career because he thought it would give him credibility, but he never truly understood what made those artists special.

I'm not defending Mustard, definitely 🤡 behaviour. No reason to come at Drake for his low album sales or AK posting it. And he probably did expect higher numbers from the hype of the song
I'm responding to users here who are acting like they believe that would/should have actually happened. I can't think of an instance where the producer of a hit single saw higher numbers on their subsequent solo project just because of that hit single (in the streaming era, because apparently users on here think the industry is the same as it was 16-20 years ago). Especially if the producer is playing more of a DJ Khaled role where the features are the draw (I'm assuming, haven't listened to the album)
If we're comparing stimulus, there's more of an argument for Gordo to benefit than Mustard. Yes it's EDM. But it's f***ing Drake and he has 2 features on the actual album. VS Mustard producing a beat for Kendrick 2 months ago, which isn't even on the album and Kendrick isn't featured on the album. Drake has more involvement on Diamante than Kendrick has on FoaMS. I think it's unreasonable of people to say Mustard should have benefited from a NLU stimulus and then say "EDM album" when people defending Kendrick respond to them about a Drake stimulus
Trying to act like only Drake fans care about numbers like Kendrick stans haven't been celebrating every streaming milestone and record broken by NLU this year and they haven't been rubbing his commercial success in Drake's face all year
You know why it's like that on this site now. You're OP of the thread, we can all still see how y'all were acting in 2022 when those DAWN FM and Morale first week numbers came in. And then how y'all were acting when those HNVM first week numbers dropped
People who live in glass houses and all that

lol and you still don’t get why comparing those to HNVM makes zero sense..
