I believe that in our new era it isn't that the new generation aren't reading, it's that we aren't providing stories in ways that captivate them. For example, try borrowing someones Stephen King novel, there's a large chance you'll be able to, now try borrowing someones Virgil book..... Yeah you ain't going nowhere with that. I love language, I love creating stories, poetry, and finding that there's a lane for new authors in this stuffy ass industry. I want to see the next Lil Uzi as a poet, a filmwriter, a novelist.
