On one side, the artist owes their success to the fans and on the other, I see fans getting upset when the artist doesn’t give them the music they expected or as often as they want. Are we obligated to WLR? Do they owe their fans what they want? Should they have free reign on experimentation? I know my answer just wondering yours

I think this is a very bad mentality to have. In your opinion, what do they owe us

Fans make the artists, at the end of the day it’s their job, they’re making a significant amount of money because the fans have invested into their product

Without the fans a lot of these artists would be struggling

I agree. The transaction also goes both ways. You gain from them in a different way. Also if an artist wants to take their time that’s OK with me. You can’t be THAT h**** for a new song. There’s so many songs already just listen to one of those

Depends on the artists and on how often they “feed” their fans. For instance, does Frank owe his fans? Abso -fucking- lutely. Does Kanye? Nah.

  • May 3, 2020

    Yes and No.
Yes They owe their fans respect and inspired art.
No because fans don't actually know what they really want until they get it. Art is subjective and it is the artist job to be a single voice not millions of other voices.

I kind of agree with you but this also is a slippery slope to go down. Fans should always be acknowledged and given thanks but the art of an artist or their output shouldn't be dictated by their fanbase. Once you begin to speak for millions of other people you lose who you are. Fans can also stunt your growth as an artist if you let them

I think as an artists your fans should be a priority because they’re your consumers and put the artists in the position their in you know ?

At the end of the day it’s a job but I agree

All they owe them is their money's worth and thats it.

  • They don't owe fans anything lmao

  • May 3, 2020

I mean Frank owes us some f***ing music and Kanye owes us normal music for a change

Also this thread makes no sense. In what sense would an artist owe their fans?

They paying their fans as a thank you?

  • May 3, 2020

No they don’t. And fans do not owe them either.

  • May 3, 2020

I mean if I pay to go to one of their concerts maybe they shouldn't use an imposter or get so drunk they can't play, but that's about it. When it comes to their albums they can do whatever they want
