Yeah I was born 1997, they said I’m the first year of Gen Z
I think its 97-2005
The years are gonna be pushed back in a few months too, I read an article today about how gen z is gonna be redefined as 1999-2014 due to coronavirus as an outstanding event that effects us (Millennials in the workforce) more than Z in school.
Then after that comes Gen Alpha
Looking at ur timeline, apparently imma millenial. I should prolly stop s***ting on them and their micro generations
Yeah man, Millennials have better music taste than Z hands down.
Ya’ll do realize “generations” are completely arbitrary and mean pretty much nothing right? You might as well just state your exact age
Damn I'm Gen Z I didn't realize after all this time of making fun of Zoomers that I'm actually a Zoomer myself
Zoomers stand tf up. We’re gonna be the goat gen

We witnessed some of the best technical advances in music
The improvement in clarity alone in our lifetime is wild
When our parents listened to music, the white noise was louder than the goddamn music itself
She's a millennial, PEW research is the lead research group that sets the dates. For a while it was questioned that even 1993 was the start of Z but they pushed it back to '97 a few years ago. Coronavirus is going to probably push Millennials back to '98 from what I've read too because it's affecting anyone 22+ more than anyone who's still in college/high school/primary school.
Bro ive never seen these cutoffs iml lmaoo
Let’s agree to disagree
There’s a clear theme tht mid 90s is disputed but late 90s isnt in the slightest
You really saying 98 kids like my brother tht grew up with ps3s hv the same experiences as millenials with kids who are in their mid 30s?

We grew up and saw the changes
Not grew up to the changes
Millenials would be 1981-1996
earliest Gen Z being born in 1997.
That gives the Millenial generation a 15 year run which only makes sense and I start to see more cultural differences in those after 97 having so many siblings
We grew up and saw the changes
Not grew up to the changes
I barely remember life before the internet, it changed everything

I dnt really get this workforce school criteria
Bro 00 kids like myself that graduate college in 2-5yrs vs 98/97 kids who maybe graduate next yr or two or are in grad school isnt some huge difference
When i was a freshman these were the juniors and s***

thank you lol

Generations are a spectrum and don't really mean anything besides used for political grouping, and workforce info as well. That's why grouping all these years together makes no sense in the first place.
I was born in '96 I'm about to be 24 in 2 months, I am completely out of touch with whatever the youth finds hot now. It's safe to say I'm a millennial and I'm grouped as one too. However, I agree that like someone born in the mid 80's has little in common with me, and I could definitely relate more to someone born '97 than '83. That's why generations are dumb as hell.
If we're talking in terms of how ages should be grouped it's like:
0-4
5-9
10-13
14-17
18-21
22-25
26-29
Etc.
Etc.
Because of how most people relate to someone 3 years younger or older than them.
I will say now that I am completely an old head when it comes to the Gen Z dominated pop culture. When people tell me they were like 10 when GKMC came out it surprises me because I was literally 17 when it was popping. Lmao.

That's just how ages go by.
Someone who is 22 isn't grouped with an 18 year old.
I was born in 93 i have a sister born in 83. She was raised on s***ty desktop computers and dial up. I remember when the flat screen Windows came out in second grade, never having to wait for p*** to download, iphone in freshman year and using AIM in grade school
I’m a zoomer and a lot of the s*** you clowns hype up is garbage.
You niggas wanna be ahead of the curve so bad that you end up stanning mediocrity. Or saying dumb s*** like (insert mid artist) is better than (insert goat artist)
It comes from a place of ignorance and pride
Niggas got too much ego to admit that they don’t know what’s going on bc they not in the mix anymore
I’m a lil bit older so I know. I’ll be the first to say some s*** is not for me and leave it at that but a lot of people around my age don’t think like that
