This isn’t just an isolated tweet, multiple times I have seen people who’s favorite artists are like Tyler, JPEG, Bladee, Death Grips, Brockhampton etc. trash this album, you know the type of HH fans I’m talking about.
Upon further examination, I can’t help but think they don’t like this album because of how unapologetically aggressive, arrogant and non-artsy fartsy 50 is. He’s not as “sophisticated/Jazz like” like how rappers like a tribe called quest were in the 90s. He’s not “weird/nerdy” enough like how Aesop Rock or MF DOOM or even some Wu Tang members who have this nerdy Kung Fu aesthetic despite their music being hard.
And a lot of 50’s content while not outright misogynistic isn’t exactly socially conscious, I don’t think people who hate this album simply hate it because of the musical or production choices, it’s most likely because 50’s aura is that of a Bully, which intimidates them and makes them feel uncomfortable
not enough artsy fartsy s***
Nerd below me

Another bad music Take

People who like Tyler, JPEG, Bladee, Death Grips, Brockhampton etc. are not hip hop nerds they are artsy casuals
Therefore their opinions on hip hop do not actually matter
we don’t hate it cause it’s hyper masculine we hate it cause it isn’t hyper pop
it’s hard to give serious answers in threads like this i’m my head is pounding and it’s 1am where i’m at but fr tho it seems like hip hop is in a spot that is trying to reconcile with its masculinity

also this idk why @op is worried aboht the opinions of chronically online teenagers bc that seems to be the common denominator for those artists fan bases lol
