go back and watch Degrassi? As someone who knew him from that years before I’d heard any of his music, I’ve never really been able to take him seriously (my problem, not his; I know tons of people enjoy his music, as evidenced by him having his own sections on message boards directly affiliated with one of his most infamous rivals). However, if a rapper I really like had spent their teenage years as a main character on multiple seasons of a TV show, I’d probably check it out. Have any of you bothered or would you just rather not know?
He’s so far removed from that show I wouldn’t see the point
never interested me since it has nothing to do with his music
Me and my girl are halfway through season 8. Unfortunately it was just Aubrey’s last episode, dunno if I wanna watch more now :/

Nah, if you’ve only been watching it for him you can stop after he leaves; the show doesn’t get any better, haha

Haven’t only been watching it for him, but the show is declining in quality. The new kids suck.Probably just gonna watch Degrassi Goes Hollywood and call it a day
you do know there is a entire generation of drake fans who grew up watching degrassi and then followed him as his music career started blowing up.
Degrassi was one of the biggest shows in Canada and it was very popular in the states also.
First time I heard him I thought damn wheelchair jimmy can actually rap and I’ve been impressed ever since

True. It’s more a question for people who didn’t come to his music via his acting stardom. And you’re absolutely right; I watched the show and I’ve never lived in Canada, so it stands to reason that some of his American fans also knew the show before the music.
I’m in the same boat op
It feels like if Mario Lopez had gone on to dominate the 90’s rap charts without anyone batting an eye.
Wouldn’t this same logic apply to rappers and singers who act in movies and tv different from they music career or does this only apply to drake.
Op must not watch any black movies or tv shows ever than.
This thread like saying I don’t take Janet Jackson seriously.
Cool bait tho. That tho only seems to apply to drake for you and not 1000 other actor rapper musicians singers.
Damn to bad Tupac was in movies before his rap career toke off. I wonder whatever happen to that guy. Did he make it big in music?
Not a drake fan but some of degrassi is like, modern art
They were wild for bringing the school shooter back in a halloween episode

Not really bait, Degrassi just happened to pop into my head and I wondered if people who first learned about him from his rap career and not his acting career ever got curious about the show. Lighten up.
