Having watched some competitive level speed walking events, and even participating in an uncompetitive one once, I realised run was for the most part defined by it being a series of small controlled leaps forward. Having 6 legs and all, I don't think they do the full controlled leaps thing, so can what insects do to move fast really be considered running
