ahh yes, bbtm
one of the weeknds best works ever
with iconic hits and classic tunes that reshaped the pop genre
people seem to hate it on ktt2
is it to fit in with the contrarians so that they look more mysterious and cool? because it definitely isnt because the music is bad because the music is extrordinary
It has some phenomenal highs as you say — The Hills; CFMF etc. — but the lows are the lowest of The Weeknd’s career. I think he could make music for another 20 years and not make a song as bad as Losers or Dark Times.
Then you have the middling tracks like Shameless, Real Life etc. that just aren’t quite there.
With the beauty of hindsight and retrospect, it’s not an album to hate on, but you can see why it was met with such divide from his core fan base.
This could have just gone in the thread I made tbh.
But anyway I think people were still fresh off the Trilogy and Kiss Land type of sound and when BBTM came out he switched it up because he was becoming a popstar at that point. And I think, to this day, is why there are s lot of BBTM and Starboy haters imo.

the lows aint even that low in my opinion, other than 2 songs
real life and shameless are both good songs for what they are trying to be
