Dec 20, 2021·1 replyLast time I brought my laptop in to get repaired because my screen had been frozen for a couple days I got it back no questions asked. But a couple days later I received a text from a number I didn't have saved and it contained really personal and graphic information I had saved deep inside my hard drive. Like torrents from 2013 were getting brought up by this unsaved number. Eventually I gathered enough courage to respond to the texts and it turned out it was the guy at the repair shop. I initially had my suspicions it was him because when I dropped it off he said to "just trust him" and that made me kind of uneasy. So when I responded he said my secret was safe with him and that I should meet him for coffee to discuss my laptop repairs. When I did it agree to meet up with him it was under the conditions that I get my laptop back, and that he agree not to disclose what I had torrented. He made me understand that what I had hidden was not what defined me, but rather a reflection of the inward trauma that I had been neglecting to deal with and his compassion eased any stress I had left. I think for you @op that you shouldn't be worried about what THEY find on your phone, but rather what YOU find in your heart.
Anyways long story short we've been dating for 3 years now and I haven't used another repair shop since.

a couple years ago I had to get my screen replaced so went to an iPhone repair shop and when I got my phone back I noticed that my photo album was open when I unlocked my phone.. chick at the repair shop prolly thought she was gonna find some nudes or weird photos but jokes on her cause the only photos I have on my iPhone are..
