Regarding the ones who dont fake their image
Lil Baby
Kendrick
Dababy
J. Cole
Etc. Do they still lie in their raps?
Some lie, some tell the truth, and others tell the truth somewhat but then exaggerate it.
they’re all mixtures of real life experiences, creative storytelling, and entertainment everyone just have different amounts of each
Someone's gonna pop in say "Kendrick was lying about smoking on top 5's" and dip and this thread will go to 50 pages

lots of rappers who make albums or songs with concepts will just make something up for the sake of storytelling or take from someone else's experience and there's nothing wrong with that

this
They don’t “lie” in a traditional sense
The experiences are probably real to varying degrees. Whether it happened to them, their homeboys, whether it’s an experience that actually did happen but did so over a decade ago, etc
How much of you guys think Pusha T's experience is authentic? I am genuinely curious of your guys opinion

I'd like to believe its the latter because I do like his music but the way he talks about it, he makes it seem like he was the Tony Montana of his day which seems a bit farfetched

I have family members from VA that grew up around the thornton brothers and from the sound of it push is lying or seriously stretching the truth at least. I think it’s an open secret that he don’t really do that s*** tho

“Don’t believe everything your earlobe captures
It's mostly backwards
Unless it happens to be as accurate as me
And everything said in song you happen to see
Then actually believe half of what you see
None of what you hear even if it's spat by me
And with that said I will kill niggas dead”
I can’t believe Kendrick f***ed a white girl
