Feel like previously released singles before the full project is released kinda ruin the flow of the album unless the single is reprised like what Kendrick did with i
not at all
if the single doesn’t fit the album, it’s usually tossed on as the last track, so there’s nothing to interrupt
if the single is in the middle of the tracklist, it usually fits well within the album
win win
it only affects the experience when singles that don’t fit the album get pushed into the middle of the tracklist, which they stopped doing since streaming overtook sales
obviously
which is why i have been no single mode since about 2010
the album era (2009-2016) is the best era rap will ever have when it comes to quality
it was all about the projects.
I try to avoid singles because if the single is good I overplay it before the album is OUT
when twigs dropped CAPRISONGS tears in the club was still a slap. same with dont start now on future nostalgia
if the singles are mid and the album is phenomenal then i appreciate the singles more
it also depends how long the singles were out, how obtrusive they were, and how much they fit the album
It wasnt cool that earl dropped almost half of sick before it came out but its still top 3 albums this year
No, but I will be the one to say it:
God’s Plan and Nice For What fooled us into thinking Scorpion would be a great album.
Depends
I really appreciate when they make changes to the single, like u mentioned Kendrick did with i
If too many singles before release I’ll stop. Or if it’s something im really looking forward to it I won’t.
