With all of this debate surrounding his new contract, I feel the most valuable piece not being discussed is his back catalog (Scorpion and older).

Does Cash Money / Birdman own his masters for this period? I have seen Birdman in interviews over the years say he will be in business with Drake forever. And Drake never says anything bad about Birdman (always praises him) so it seems like they still see eye to eye.

Is Cash Money licensing Drake's back catalog to UMG for a certain period of time then re-negotiating the contract every couple years like what Drake did with his last UMG deal? I never see any full reports on it.

We know Lil Wayne sold much of his catalog and people tried to say that included all of Drake's masters but we know that's not true since Wayne just got a few hundred million or something (the worst lawyer could get a billion for Drake's back catalog). And no way Birdman would ever just let Wayne own much of Drake's solo catalog.

This is one of the most valuable piece of any rapper's catalog in history and no one really knowing is crazy. Hmmm.
