Conceptual, lyrically and sonically Ab-Soul makes one of the most brilliant rap albums made to date

It's unfortunate lupe had to be an ass regarding kendrick cause he and soul could have made magic, everything from the cover of control system to this album was lupe influenced and to me, soul was a brand of lupes style that made it to the mainstream for a while

Love both artists but idk if I can agree, respectfully. Ab-soul is very unique, his rapping technique/flow is very different from Lupe. And conceptually though both conscious, it’s a different set of consciousness. Ab-soul imo embodies a lot of Aleister Crowley and conspiracy/doubt, while Lupe I think is more holistic in his consciousness, Rapping about social issues in a more concrete form. If that’s makes sense, but regardless I understand where you are coming from

Herbert is more accessible but idk if it’s better. I don’t think lyrically and sonically it’s nearly as ambitious Do as thou Wilt. Though it is a good record
