they’re both equally important to each other cuz a song can have a dope ass beat and if the lyrics/bars are ass the songs just dog s***. Aka all off da baby songs

it's possible to focus on both as a fluid stream.

Good music is well blended and allows you to enjoy it as a whole piece not just bits.

Facts, Jackboys has crasy talented producers on their team in general

  • Jan 3, 2020

If it’s someone like Trav most likely the beat first

But then Ye it will be both mostly because what he says is loud and clear and like statements

  • Jan 3, 2020

beat except for when the lyrics really jump out, or after multiple listens i start catching more bars

  • Whatever draws my attention - could be a snare pattern or a vocal inflection or adlibs or a chord progression. Great music is layered & reveals itself over time though so each listen could be a totally diff experience

  • Jan 3, 2020

I’ll sacrifice the bars for really good beats, but I’m not listening to something with a boring beat no matter how good the rapping is. So I guess the beat

  • Jan 3, 2020

I tune these niggas out not gonna lie

  • Jan 3, 2020

Since english isn't my first language I always listen to the beats first but I can make the effort to concentrate on the lyrics for my first time
