The problem with this thread is that its too focused on numbers. Drake will continue to sell big numbers, probably a bit less than before but it will still be big numbers.
This question about if he is 'over' should really be about whether his standing and legacy in hop hop been negatively impacted.
Don’t be dense, you know what I mean
Nah I genuinely don’t, your points are always all over the place due to constant goal posts being moved

When people have “Big 3”, “Top 5/Top 10” conversations about rappers in big 2024, nobody is saying f***ing Eminem regardless of what he sells first week.
Drake stans don’t even acknowledge that Eminem is the highest-selling rapper of all time
Y’all really play stupid just to push a narrative
Lmao you have to do something off the wall for your career to be over.
Or just stop making music your core fanbase enjoys

Legacy and reputation means nothing to them, it’s all about how many numbers someone does. As if art is a sport.
That’s not a new f***ing project
And no it’s not insane.
The entire world acknowledges that Drake is the biggest rapper of the 2010s as well as the biggest rapper of all time.
His back catalog SHOULD be streaming that much, he is in a tier of his own when it comes to all-time popularity.
DBR still counts towards his sales who gives a f*** if it was new it was still released as a project by him this year lol
And I'm glad you agree
So it makes it a little silly to push the idea that Drakes career is finished when people are still listening to his old stuff and his last major release from last year is the 2ND best sold album this year
Let the numbers do the talking not what some viral post from some kendrick cockmuncher on twitter with 50k likes be your basis for what the general public thinks about Drake
Drake will always be immensely popular. His new material may not be as relevant as it once was.
The Rolling Stones, U2 and Coldplay put up massive ticket sales, but their new material obviously doesn't hit like the old stuff. That will inevitably happen to Drake, if it hasn't already.
lol

Why do y’all play dumb man.
Drake’s run at the top being over has no effect on his back catalog being consumed, because he is the biggest rapper ever.
Do you think Eminem is Top 5 solely based on his new album’s sales? No. His back catalog gets streamed and purchased on a regular basis.
Legacy and reputation means nothing to them, it’s all about how many numbers someone does. As if art is a sport.
Literally says the guy who argues in the numbers everyday defending the weeknds flops in there
Everybody becomes a legacy act if they're in the game long enough and their fans need to accept it. Father Time is undefeated.
tell that to smokey who was writing hits in the 50s tho

Literally says the guy who argues in the numbers everyday defending the weeknds flops in there
Even Weeknd’s “flops” were more successful than any Drake record released this year. Really says something doesn’t it

unquote flops, they flopped and aren’t late bloomers lol

They didn’t flop, Timeless and DITF are both still charting. Show me where the 2024 Drake songs are on the charts right now?
And unlike drake, he was actually going all out trying to make sure they didn’t flop getting apple deals and snf ads for a song that was dead on arrival

Every artist has to ask themselves "do people really need another album from me?" before the public starts asking it.
New Drake albums are seeming less and less necessary as time goes on and that's reflected in his numbers dropping off a bit. The core fanbase will always be there, but he isn't really capturing the public's imagination the way he used to.
Few artists do 15 years into their career.

Still performing better than any Drake record this year

Copium
You wouldn’t say the same if roles were reversed
It’s hilarious that the same numbers criticisms Drake stans throw to Weeknd now can also apply to Drake, but they pretend like it doesn’t

Nah, Drake had a few hits in 2023. He has absolutely none this year

And yet you still can’t admit they flopped :jordanlaff3:
The carti stimulus that saved kanye couldn’t even save the weeknd
