Haven't listened to a single Drake project since Scorpion
If you have heard one drake project you've heard literally everything hes ever had to say--nothing lol
Against my will I've had to hear some of his recent work on video game soundtracks and it just confirms my intuition--dude fell off a long time ago and is still rapping/singing about the same s*** he was talking about when I was in high school 15 years ago
It was the end for me regardless, and I'm glad I have no connections to it.
Niggas need to take off the Rose Tinted Glasses on Views and Scorpion.
S*** was only carried by the huge singles.
Yeah but I wouldn't even group Views with the albums released after.
That was the last album 40 was fully involved with iirc and there's a clear shift not just in the way he constructs his albums but lyrically too.
People who didn’t like him before and now post beef are saying they don’t listen to him
This entire site will be on the edge of their seat for that new Drake solo
i dunno, i have enjoyed pretty much every drake album ever. even FATD i thought was pretty decent despite being his worst project to date. something has changed though, you can only watch someone embarrass themselves and ruin their image so much before you just kinda start tuning them out.
that being said though, his next album will definitely get a courtesy listen from me because the prospect of what he's gonna say on it is fascinating. i have my doubts it will do anything to help his tarnished reputation, but it should be fun either way.
It was the end for me regardless, and I'm glad I have no connections to it.

This is what users obsessed w numbers like thegreatdivine don’t understand. They judge an album as a classic if it has hit songs, but it needs to be evaluated as a cohesive body of work.
I stopped listening to him tbh
Yup I have absolutely zero desire to listen to his catalog or any of his future output

Her Loss is worth a listen.
Care Package too but that's about it.
Definitely not but I can’t listen to the tough guy raps anymore esp after those lawsuits. Dude needs to stick to singing

i wanted For All The Dogs to be good so bad, i genuinely wanted to like that album
listened to that s*** front to back 3 times trying to convince myself it was good
Her Loss is worth a listen.

satisfies me that you didn’t buy into the HNVM koolaid they’ve been sipping on here
My last favorite track from Drake is Treacherous Twins and everybody hates that song lmao i f***ing love it
Well he needs to....

They try to convince us that it's the new age 808s.
Now imagine me saying that with a Cudi Avi

It was cool when it dropped because it was something different from him but after a while you realise it's actually really lacklustre.
I don't listen to it anymore.

"He never did something like this before so its a classic trust me"
Her Loss is worth a listen.

Yeah he was in good form for her loss. HNVM was not it, couldn't finish FATD. I'm curious about where he goes from here tho ngl, in terms of artistic direction
It was the end for me regardless, and I'm glad I have no connections to it.

Best songs on Views aren't even singles
Next
There’s no way you actually believe that, right?
I mean yeah some s*** is definitely diminished, but it’s by no means over let’s relax a bit lol. This dude will always draw ears near when he drops
well 'over' by your definition is some insane chevy chase level of fall off and obscurity but i dont think thats what people think when they think about drakes falloff
the former is not going to happen off the fact that hes one of the most famous and recognizable people in the world and theres probably nothing that might change that. but i for example dont think we'll see drake ever having a worldwide hit on the level of hotline or one dance or we're going home or in my feelings. his fanbase wont go anywhere and hes gonna go the nicki route of having a huge number of people checking in for him, streaming, and maintaining mainstream presence but by any other non-sale metric people will not look at him the same at all. unless something changes radically in him hes gonna live a frank sinatra type of life forever never ever hitting back the highs of his initial stardom, not to mention our perception of drake forever being altered after this year. to me, even if not by much, that counts as a fall off
Over? No, he will still make millions and draw millions of streams with each project he releases.
The same dominant juggernaut he was before? No, we’ve already the numbers start to taper off with his recent studio albums and all the songs he’s dropped this year have been commercially underwhelming.
I think he’ll exist in that Em / Jay tier for the rest of his career.
No longer the #1 guy, but still able to do respectable numbers like 200K-300K with a new album, and also have the ability to fill up a venue whenever and wherever. Basically a legacy act at this point
How do you define a legacy act? I find a lot of these older artists are bringing new ideas and do not consider themselves legacy acts
While an artist who makes no new music but tours old hits is clearly a legacy act
