does he believe in me?
there is no before or after only the time that you are aware
that can’t be true because there are people we interact with on the daily that have recollection of a “before” our time
like our parents and their parents, etc
If we out live our parents then we become their “after”, being able to experience and recollect what they can’t

youre missing the point you will never witness any of that you cannot say whether it is real or exists

Everything we know is based off cause and effect, there’s no belief needed for that. We see that play out on the daily so it’s natural to have a understanding that everything is linked and that just because I’m not aware of something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist
I may not be aware of a time before me because I wasn’t born yet but that doesn’t correlate to there never being anything before me or else how would myself be?
I believe a god exists but I don’t think he’s as hands on as niggas think
I mean mfs find a quarter on the ground and be like “thank you lord”
i believe a god made everything but doesn't interfere with his creations
i also believe that we aren't a direct creation of god, something created something, that something exploded and created materials formed as stars, blah blah blah space s*** happened and over a span of trillions of years we just evolved here rn. We're the least of God's problems
God not interacting with their creation is the only way I can justify why bad things happen to good people
The fact that God is no longer perceived as being capable of influencing events closes Man off to the unconscious security provided by divine causality.
Consider also that anguish is a permanent component of human existence and Modern Man meets it entirely on his own as God's image has been reduced to a feeble geriatric in a wheelchair who may be pleased by his grandchildren's good behavior but is physically unable to punish them if they misbehave.
atheists live on a floating 3D sphere in a black void and be like:
yup, nothing else to this story lol
Nah. When you're not raised religious, it's hard to not look at everyone who is like they're not brainwashed
religion was invented to explain things that early humans didn't understand. It's been incredibly resilient because people have a hard time changing their entire worldview they've been raised to believe, and because it gives people hope
at the end of the day we're just animals. pretty creative ones though
i can understand this pov if your experience is with only american christianity, but do realize that neoliberal-capitalist secularism is not default "rational" thinking, but a very specific belief system that has to be enforced/upheld
If you consider god and the universe/creation to essentially be one the question of gods existence is arbitrary.
I’d say I somewhat believe in God but it’s not something that I can foresee myself comprehending. I’d rather just view creation itself as god for that reason

I remember reading and watching stuff about per modern science free will is essentially a myth. Abandoning concept of complete free will is liberating in a way and makes life easier
Science has made god and conventional religion moot. But we still got these religious modules in our brain and it makes people feel good that they believe in something that they think is the righteous thing, so now we got intersectionality as the new religion .

science explains the how of reality, but never the why.
