Got in an argument in my group chat because I said Karma doesn’t exist in this world, bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people
What do you think?
its not real. imagine thinking a child that was kidnapped somehow did something to deserve that.
Some magical force? Nah
Plus, don't Buddhists believe karma effects what type of "dimension" you go to when you die rather than on earth "benefits"?
correct me if im wrong

Buddhists do in fact believe your Karma effects what realm you go to during rebirth, idk about the on the earth "benefits" tho
Karma is real, but not in the immediate sense of "help someone today, someone helps you tomorrow". It is accrued over a lifetime, not dealt back and forth day after day/week after week - that is a different concept.

Why do you think this? Is there literally any evidence of this? The people at the top of the world are the most evil, and those at the bottom tend to be innocent
yes but we understand karma wrong.
so karma as we understand it is real but not for how we understand it.
if you just do s*** s*** is not happening to you because you just do s***.
look up karma in Hinduism

yes but that's karma due to your life work not karma like "karma"
same thing in Christianity

It is most evident to see in the fact that bad things happen to good people all the time while s***ty people get further in life all the time. If karma was as immediate as people wanted to believe, this wouldn't be the case. If anything your post just supports my statement.
I dont believe the black and white version of karma exists but i do feel like the world around you reflects your energy back at you from time to time or moment to moment depending on how you look at it
These evil people at the top of the world you speak of, yea it may be worth it to them, def from a material pov. But idk, in recent years i been thinking, and i guess hoping that karma is having to live in whatever hellscape their minds must be. Guilt, dread, all the good stuff. Look them in the eyes and tell me if you think they really on top.
Theres also the question of an afterlife which would be the ultimate karma
