I really thought he was gonna blow up tbh and had a much more varied and in depth take on the 90’s aesthetic and sound around the time (maybe even before) Joey Badass blew up, made his own beats. Kinda a parallel to what A$AP Mob was doing but he had his own sound with that same vibe.

Yeah I had to go run Cakey real quick when I saw this thread pop up, I forgot how locked in his aesthetic was. It was fire and i'm surprised he never broke through with the 90s east coast rap wave that went off. It's always a sad story when it just doesn't come together for certain artists.
