Starting to see him more as Kendricks experiment than a real solo act
Ik ktt thinks its the opposite and keem is writing for kendrick but Im pretty sure kendricks the one trying to plant him
He may have a better career as someone who gives ideas to other artists that they can then take and create something really dope because all his projects and most of his songs have fallen flat for me. Repetitive, generic flow and style. Doesn't really have anything to say. I know he's young but an artist doesn't have to be in their mid 20's for you to start seeing signs of the kind of artist they could be in the future.
But seriously tho he just makes some cool music but the only songs that blew up like that were orange soda and durag activity(mainly because Travis promoted the s*** out of it)
His momentum is very slow. He better cut the mysterious s*** out soon and drop a full length LP.
Guys music is shallow and bland enough to be a huge hit with the masses. I’m thinking yes.

For sure. I’m all for respecting artistic direction but his rollout is very confusing. He’s not dropping a conscious type album it just seems like it’s full of slippers so I’m not sure what’s up with this mysterious/deep shtick. I have faith he’ll deliver tho

doesnt work though, man isnt a lil baby/dababy, he is "arty", heavily-A&R'd and his output comes across as very curated and not natural
he is making "ignorant" music with the help of a team of 50, whereas the likes of lil baby makes turnup music in earnest and are popular as a result, it doesnt come across disingenuous like keem

You make a valid point but this worked for Travis

you do well to bring that up, for all of trav's flaws he was an elite marketter even before astroworld, whether it was him or his team, he was alongside "street" artists nonstop and levelled up his collabs ( Justin Bieber, Weeknd, Drake) every year. maybe with keem collabing with kendrick and drake we will see him step up
his fans bought into the idea of trav being a "street" artist like rich homie quan and thug, giving him a "credible" foundation to build on that keem doesnt have yet.
to me keem comes across as a guy who got in the industry cos of kendrick, not off any real special talent of his own

Yea that’s the only way I can see him getting bigger. Just play on that artsy/aesthetic s*** and get nice features. As of rn, he doesn’t seem to have anything interesting to say.
100% agree with that last sentence. Maybe he’ll grow as an artist. He’s only just starting
not allowing artists to grow is a big problem with this site
these niggas be hella young just starting they careers everyone isn’t nas lol
Said the same thing about Cordae
And Nas’ hot start to his career was a gift and curse that continues to haunt him until this day
Probably. I don't think he'll be a superstar though.
The music he's been putting out is just as bland as the artwork they're paired with.
I would have to hear his next project to answer this . He’s got potential, but I don’t like his recent singles tbh
He's been getting a 2012/2013 Travis Scott like career push. He'll definitely take off.
