I noticed that since streaming came out, the amount of times I actually purchase an album to own has fallen drastically, to the point where I borderline never do it anymore.
I really only ever buy a CD or vinyl of an album I really like already as a collector’s piece and sometimes don’t even open the shrink wrap. And you can just forget digital copies.
I was wondering: is this true for everyone else too? Or am I just too streaming dependent?
Yes. Not as much since ive been moving to different places a lot because I dont want to break my vinyls. But when everything slows down im going to keep doing it. Also an avid concert goer and merch buyer
I'll purchase albums or singles from smaller artists on bandcamp when the music really moves me and I want to support
Also merch and concert tickets
ain't no point purchasing digital music unless its from small artists, cd's & vinyl's tho

For sure. I was thinking I should start considering buying more from smaller and/or independent artists just to support them if I like their stuff.
I haven’t embarked on that chapter of my life yet, but I hear it’s rough trying to make music as a job before you get your big break and build a fanbase like that
Vinyl and shows are what I spend money on music wise. I try to see all of my fav artists live and even some s*** I dont listen to just for the live experience. Always a good time

I love shows too.
I gotta see more tho. My last one was in like, September.
I bought a second hand hawaiian music vinyl lp for 50 cents like 2 days ago
That's about it
I try too, but I don’t think I’ve seen a DCMA on music in a long damn time. It’s made me go back to thinking about pirating.
