You're gonna wake up couple years from now and look at the s*** you're posting about WLR being a classic and say to yourself "why was I so cringe pretending this s*** is any good?"

Die Lit on the other hand was amazing

WLRs only flaw is that it panders to die lit babies in the second half. Should’ve went full on with the aggressive tracks

    I honestly couldn't pick

Carti executed his vision perfectly on both projects

WLR is certainly riskier and more experimental, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's the superior album. There is really no greater feeling than listening to Die Lit on a summers day

I feel like on WLR Carti architectures a new sound, while Die Lit was a demonstration that that bubbly/breezy/trap/SoundCloud era sound still could be innovated upon

WLR a more personal project though too, and has the most introspection Carti has ever provided in his music

F*** typing this out I realise it's hopeless to try and rank one above the other

Ultimately the stark contrast in sound & composition of both albums is indicative of a TRUE artist - Carti is continually evolving

What if WLR was his second album and Die Lit was his third? Do you feel like that’s a good progression?

The run from Track 9 - Track 15 on Die Lit though

    Home (KOD)
    Fell in Luv
    Foreign
    Pull Up
    Mileage
    Flatbed
    No Time

That right there is PEAK Carti, PEAK fkn music

I agree with you all the way. Die lit is still the best summer album, but WLR has carti at his rawest, most personal, and present form. Like he really proved that he doesn’t get carried by beats on that album

    Exactly

It's like trying to compare Graduation & 808s

    You really can't

They are both going after completely different things

Die lit is great, probably one of my most listened albums of all time, but WLR is such a tearful ode to a dead relative

No I feel like WLR is overhyped and there are guys out there doing same thing Carti tried to do with WLR and KTT would call them trash. It just doesn't work no matter what.

Whenever I see someone post a IG story riding a car listening to s*** like No Sleep I'm like

If WLR was his second album no one would want a third...
