i feel like this is true of combative, rude and smug people all over the political spectrum
although with that being said the far right tend to be the nastiest cavemen overall
@maxx can we get a TL;DR
in developed countries yeah
in countries where extremists run the govt and put the population in poverty and throw the country into chaos, not at all
this country you are describing sounds like the united states
this country you are describing sounds like the united states
not necessarily but I am in awe of people who are absolutely completely certain in their beliefs. it doesn't vibe with my epistemology

You do realize when colonists overthrew the British rule in America, they we’re considered extremists by those in charge? What ur saying makes zero sense
If you care about politics you got issues deeper inside. This for both sides
If you don’t care you’re pretty much a covering your ears and screaming into the void
If you care about politics you got issues deeper inside. This for both sides
Did Malcolm X have deeper issues inside ?

hahahaha
that's the point
British rule in the U.S was oppression and they were rightly overthrown
the same type of conflict between ruling class and working class citizens is happening today in other countries
I'm not really disagreeing with you
but I wouldn't put the U.S in that category today bc it's much less violent

Less violent by who’s standards?
Ruling class? You mean the rich white aristocrats that basically set up the faux monarchy British has in America? You had to own property to even initially vote in America?
Not all. With the left this has been an issue since at least the 60s. (see: the role of intelectuals x the proletarian on the revolution; the french students on may 68, etc)
With the Hasan, left twitter or leftypol or whatever crowd is all ego. People using communism as roleplaying, no different than weirdos who make "Little Dark Age" fascist montages.
I mean, there's an user here named "chairman americana," it should be enough to demonstrate the ego issues.
i have strong conviction in my beliefs on things that i perceive as mattering and i’m not going to shy away from an argument about them because those things have great weight in forming my entire worldview. i imagine anyone on any extreme is the same. that’s just human nature. not much to do with ego.
people can be willing to learn and grow, but generally not on their absolute core values
radical extremism probably has more to do with circumstance and socialization
yeah even if i agree with certain extreme things (sepcifically to the left)i couldn’t imagine making that an identity of mine
If you care about politics you got issues deeper inside. This for both sides
If u human u got deeper issues inside
Extreme is relative. Social conditions will always redefine what a moderate position is and what an extreme position is
We are in a time where that Redefinition is occurring, and to not understand/analyze/adjust to the change of condition that is occurring is more “big ego” than assuming the position of something that was previously extreme
