This is a thing I see a lot in hair cutting tiktoks and movies/tv mostly yet never really seen IRL
It seems like one of those things that sounds good in your head but in execution seems awkward and more of a hassle if anything

Nah I don't but I feel like a good barber wouldn't allow you to anyways
No I continuously make eye contact with the barber the whole time and refuse to break it
Nah I’m too busy making sure I don’t rub my knee or elbow on my barber’s crotch
No. That feels dismissive to me. And like it would exacerbate the already existing tension.
On a sidenote, a couple of the barbers at my place have recently begun doing this thing where they spin me round in the chair, rather than they walk around me. I don't like it one bit. Very emasculating.

I know you're right too.
It's not even like I'm short and my feet are off the floor. I have to shuffle them as they spin.
i cut my own hair now but when i used to visit a barber id just zen out
do you ever accidentally push your hairline back?
i definitely f***ed myself up a couple weeks ago
I wouldn't wanna get hair on my phone, depending on the barber I treat a haircut like a conversation or a sensory deprivation tank
nah looking at my hair, talking

nah, plus i keep it on the longer side anyway, no fades or anything like that. just chuck some guards on and buzz away
I can appreciate a barber who doesn’t mind cutting in silence. I can make small talk if I need to but I usually get my cuts early in the morning and enjoy the silence sometimes
How can you even do this with the cape
Some have a transparent square in the middle but it's s*** anyways
i just chat with my hair stylist, which most ppl at the salon do. people who have 2-3hr sessions usually bring their laptops and work
Nah I don’t. I’m someone who enjoys watching people who are good at their craft do their thing
Whole time I’m at the salon I’m focused on the craftsmanship. Rarely make small talk either
