AvenueJonesI agree wit this to an extent because even the most street music and rappers of the 90s all came from a perspective of telling their story and or the realities of what’s going on in their community. While talkin they s***.
I think the problem today is rap has become over saturated with artist choosing specifically to rap more about lifestyle than substance. And the lifestyle rap aren’t the same as the past. It’s nothing really endearing about it. A lot of the young “street” rappers today aren’t actually street to begin with just crashouts pushing an image over 808s.
I think I agree that it’s over saturated.

Let’s be honest, most people don’t take any steps to truly educate themselves outside of what’s taught in the public school system. Therefore, if that same school system is failing them, they’re not receiving any outside education to rectify that failure
