Thoughts

She's a amazing rapper, she's taking it where doja should have, she's got some to say and thankfully it's a mixtape cause now I'm really excited to hear what's up , the writing is solid for the most part even tho it's a bit redundant and derivative, she wears all her influences on her, I respect cause she got a unique voice and style too, tde might hindering her talents too by the way she speaking out throughout this but with an artist like her, tde might be the best home tbh. Great album

i thought that too on first listen because of the reiterated lines but its for sure intentional, just havent figured out why yet

This isnt the first time we've heard about how TDE and Top try to push artists in a direction and such, so this isnt that surprising when she has been all over the place with her releases up to this point, the only real difference is it seems like Doechii has the personality to just trust in herself

They'd want on her some doja s*** cause she can but it seems they forcing the raps, I ain't mad too but she can make hits. TDE let Q do him , they should take a chance on young doechii

which pharrell joint? if for doechii, im assuming thats an album cut

im guessing their thought process is that women rappers are pretty in right now and they already have SZA, but when someone is multitalented you def should not inhibit them, esp because those can end up being generational. I think Doechii has it like that tbh. But Top and TDE also have a pretty solid record at creating successful careers too, I am sure Doechii will explain a lot of stuff in interviews coming up.

From my personal insight, I imagine they let their artists cook and put out singles pretty much as they like, but wont ship a full album unless its solid and they push the artist above & beyond, and a weak mentality in an artist will break. It is very frustrating for an artist to hear what they work on isnt great but someone has to tell you. But on the flip side, with SZA, you always hear her complain then circle back around to how much she loves Top and the label
