But it's not the first time a rapper has based a song or freestyled on a popular "indie" sample, it just happened to blow up years later. So I can't hate her on that.

It's certainly not a bad thing. I'm not necessarily gonna enjoy the results but that was fairly common practice during the blog era. Anxiety just happened to blow up at a time when those new freestyles could really make it big.

I always fw her and watched firsthand as the right audience caught on, and saw her double down on the styles that people responded well to. She’s not a plant. She was working her ass off dropping good quality singles and visuals and little freestyles and maintaining a social media presence and doing exactly what she was supposed to do. And it paid off.
