I enjoy some trap music but sometimes I feel weird listening to it because I can not relate to most of the things being said
Like with most music I enjoy I can relate to the situations or thoughts they are sharing
With most trap songs I enjoy I enjoy how they sound but I have a hard time building as much of a connection to them because I can not relate to the thoughts/experiences that the artists are sharing
I can relate to Some trap songs like mo bamba and Sicko mode, they played it at the last day of school pizza party yesterday

U might not be able to relate to the experiences but u can relate to the feelings they evoke if that makes sense

This makes sense
But when a genre is heavily based around a specific subject like what trap is from what I understand
Like it just makes it harder than different genres where that's not the case really
most people can’t
those same people will tell you you’re not street or cultured enough if you don’t like them
I mainly listen to music for the sound . If it sounds good to my ears i don't really care about the subject matter
i like good production and every rapper has relatable lyrics about love and emotions etc
Trap is outdated
