I don't know what it is about these towns but there is something that attracts me to them. I wouldn't ever want to live in one, but visually and historically they are so appealing to me. Like at one point a group of people chose a spot to settle in with hopes of building a better life and soon enough more and more people joined them and then all of a sudden it's a village, then a town, then a city and then it all sorta falls apart tens or hundreds of years later and all thats left are a few people and a few shops. These towns become relics that are slowly crumbling away and are or have been completely forgotten about. It's kind of like time has stopped in these parts but everything is still aging. I don't know if any of this made any sense, I tried to explain exactly how I feel but even then I don't feel like I have the rights words to truly get my point across.

If you wanna see the types of towns I'm talking about check out Bald and Bankrupt on youtube, he travels to a lot of super small cities around the world, but my favorites are when he goes to Russia and eastern Europe and he visits these old soviet towns that haven't been touched since the USSR's fall.
