I personally don’t see the appeal in taking many pictures of myself. If I want to know what I look like, I’d look in a mirror.
That’s just me though, although it doesn’t feel like many people feel the same way
You prob ugly lmao
I apologise if my opinion somehow hit too close to home for you
I understand it.. I come from an upbringing where vanity and self-obsession are bad traits.. but at the same time lots of people are building brands/businesses off of selfies.. so I see it from a multitude of persoectives
Yeah i’m not big pictures guy, i got like 10 photos of me in my phone and i don’t really feel natural taking many pictures of myself
Selfies were a thing before now op. I’ve come to like pictures they make great memories
people still hung up on things like this is laughable. sure some people will take selfies to look at themselves but a lot of the time they’re being sent to someone. it’s nice to see who i’m talking to. it’s not as narcissistic as you think. it’s hardly a culture.
Nah, if anything I really regret not taking more pictures of myself tbh. Not even on some conceited s***, I'm a very sentimental person so I think it's cool to see how I looked or how different things were in the past
There's a stretch of years from like 2012-2017 where I don't even really remember what I looked like because the only photos that exist of me is some s*** other people might have took or id
Agreed.
Girls be asking me to send them pics and I'm like b****, I don't sit around all day taking selfies.

I’m aware. I’m specifically referring to the modernisation of the self portrait being a common occurrence. Taking pictures (even of yourself) is fine, but personally I feel the photos of oneself is far too prevalent to be something that is healthy.
The real problem is that all these art museums now want you to take selfies with the art because it gives the museum free advertising so everyone just takes selfies with the art instead of looking at it. Also all the new artists who want a big exhibition just make a piece with a colorful mirror or some other dumb s*** to get easy selfies. These people ate enjoying themselves, I suppose, but it's a s***ty short lived enjoyment instead of the type of deper enjoyment a museum should be trying to create.
Maybe that's all unrelated but s*** pisses me off when I go to museums and people taking dumb pictures for no reason instead of just looking.

I feel you, I do sometimes think I should take more selfies as well. I’m talking about the far end of the spectrum though. Constantly taking photos of yourself surely can’t be healthy.

aint nobody sending s***. all these hoes online are strictly posting them on social media for eye candy cuz dudes still thirst over this s***. attention seeking will never disappear

I personally feel we are about to reach the climax of an age future historians will refer to as decadent, in the most pejorative sense of the word. Although that’s probably not tied to this issue; not in isolation anyway.

I wonder how the world would react if the camera was disabled from smart phones for a week
