Yes. When I hear a supposed competitive multiplayer game being designed to, "make everyone feel like a hero," I know its going to be trash.
This is a fact, but they are also catering to e-Sports as well.
Very true but it's doesn't make sense. They keep nerfing AP playstyles because it's "un-fun" but by reducing the skill gap you're lose the competitive nature and potential of the game

They want it both ways, capturing a casual and a sweat/competitive audience.
Unfortunately it usually ends with neither audience happy.

My biggest issue is that causal will always find something to find and blame as unfair, the thing is that and this sounds dismissive but people need to get good. Games by nature are meant to be challenging.
People don’t want to put the work in.
But you can never make a competitive game easier for casuals to be competitive at. You only make it easier for them to play on a lower level and you ultimately ruin the competitive aspect. Street Fighter V took a hit from execution to make it more casual friendly, made combos easier, but scrubs still aren’t sniffing the air past drowning in pools at a tournament without learning high level play
yea tbh
I miss when there was legit skill gaps
Devs been super hand holdy with players when it comes to multiplayer competition and that's why it's been so mid this gen

Ruining the movement meta in Apex made the game so boring, and people just b**** and like it's so weird how many people defend this but I have friends in my circles who refuse to get good, or try and get better
This too
it's not even that bad most of the stuff for e sports is good until big players complain about completely fair stuff which caused the Mercy rework
so sad that starcraft 2 fell off in the esports scene. the skill demonstrated in pro games was so f***ing mystical
one of the best multiplayer games OAT, including the original
