shows you felt like you overpaid for? shows you missed?

honestly i only have like 3 real concert regrets and they’re all just ones i missed.

i skipped sophie’s 2019 album tour was planning to catch her next one, just figured i'd already seen her 3 times in a row... didn’t realize that was my last chance.

lil peep, i had two opportunities to get tickets but kept putting it off, decided i’d just see him at a festival in december 2017..

the last one was the pop2 charli event, she did something for fans who bought the vinyl or merch, i had free tickets but was sick. didn’t go. should’ve just drank a redbull and dealt with it lol.

those three really changed how i think about shows. now if i even think i might regret missing something, i just get the ticket.

i also had melly tickets and he went to jail right before the show, but that one is more stupid.. to me.

I haven't been to a concert/live show of my own free will since November 2019

Bladee possibly the last artist I will ever have paid money for and sung their songs with them

I missed Jpeg opening for Vince Staples cause I was moving. I also missed Travis Scott and Young Thug on tour for Days Before Rodeo. My only other big miss was an Isaiah Rashad show in LA he brought SZA out for

Went to go see Imagine Dragons at a festival instead of Lorde in 2017 cause no friends wanted to go with me.

The year prior, same festival, I went to go see Sigma instead of Sir Paul McCartney because no friends wanted go go with.

After all that, I learned a valuable lesson.

  • i bought tickets to see Action Bronson & a live band last year, then I f***ed my ankle up a bit by slipping it off the sidewalk. Decided at the last minute it probably wasnt smart to go to a show where I'd be standing & raging for hours, so I skipped it. In hindsight I should've just powered through

only big concert regret is Kendrick Damn tour, most expensive ticket I ever got but venue was total s***, basically couldn't see nor hear anything lol. plus my friend was late and missed James Blake opening and also forgot it was my bday at midnight 🙂

also lowkey primavera sound 22 was mad overpriced and not even that enjoyable, just way too crammed + insane they made bringing water illegal and only had one single fountain on the whole site to fill a bottle. kind of turned me off big festivals. but tbf I also caught covid on the first day and powered through whole weekend w a fever lmao

but yh all the best music events I've been to have cost at most 30 bucks tbh

i missed a death grips concert because i didnt figure theyll be on in the evening when i had my flight back. but as part of that event thinking back id rather had seen sophie or black midi

almost went to sunn and swans concerts but didnt end up going. my two best friends traveled for a metallica concert and i didnt go to the concert but we traveled together. those arent as much regrets since i dont care for live music but yeah definitely notable misses

As a musician, I've never once regretted paying for concert tickets because I'm able to take something away from even really disappointing shows. I enjoy them the vast majority of the time and the bad ones are educational for me.

I have two hugely regrettable missed concerts though:

    1. I was vacationing in the UK at the same time Big Star played a concert at Hyde Park in 2009 but didn’t plan to be there. Alex Chilton would pass away the following year.

    2. I skipped seeing 808s at the Hollywood Bowl because I was broke and had just seen Kanye at FYF Fest. Stupid.

i also had plans to go to two oh sees concert in london this june with my friend who lives there who i aint seen in 5 years but that didnt happen either. also missed a judas priest and massive attack concerts last year on an assumption my passport was expiring and i wont be let through

I hate music so I don’t go to concerts

  • The Weeknd wit Travis Scott played a gig in Las Vegas just a few days before Rodeo dropped. I was so f***ing hyped for Rodeo & BBTM but me and my family left LV day before the show

Also, I never got to see David Bowie before he stopped touring. I was 13 at the time but I wish I’d asked my parents to take me to his 2004 show in Pittsburgh. Would have been an amazing first concert

totally get that luckily i had a friend group that loved travis and the weeknd but not many other people i wanted to see had a chance to see chief keef with post malone as the opener in 2015 and no one would go so i didn’t go and regretted it the entire night. wish i went alone

same with charli in 2014, didn’t see her till 2017 at a festival the weeknd was headlining and i dragged all my friends to charli at like 3pm lol

i ended up seeing post, chief and charli later so i kinda have gotten over it though i do wish i went alone

actually don’t think i have any now that i think about it more

probably Mac dying because his show was the same night as Travis’ show in my city so it was weird being lit at Astroworld with that in the back of my mind cause i had bought 3 tickets to his show as well but sold them before he unfortunately passed cause i was gonna try to catch him in another city nearby

  • Apr 25, 2025

Didn't see Kanye when he still did real tours even though I had the opportunity

Saw Mac Miller at the first stop of the GOOD AM tour but have absolutely no pictures or videos from it cause they were all on Snap. Might be the only concert I've been to that I don't have pics from, major regret

  • Apr 25, 2025

I had tickets to see Yeezy live during the Yeezus tour but his tour bus got in an accident and the show got rescheduled to around Christmas time and I couldn't go because of family stuff

I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of money on concerts but I’m very much a music nerd, every experience was unique good or bad I always learned something

Mos def concert in 2012 my most disappointing but shouldn’t have expected that much anyway

Paid $250 Canadian for nosebleeds seats for the It's All A Blur Tour

Just to watch Drake go on a crane with the mic in his hand (not sing), drink while the DJ did some bs

    Couldn't believe it
