I’m almost finished creating a 10 episode docu-series about hip-hop and was planning to upload it to YouTube. I was just wondering if anyone knows if the videos will be demonetized if I highlight and discuss explicit lyrics without censoring them, or if it’s ok in the context of music, or what. I don’t really know much but I heard that YouTube has gotten stricter in the past few years regarding monetizing videos with language or s***or etc but I don’t fully understand their rules about song lyrics.

You probably won't get monetized unless it's kid friendly content tbh

if u wanna get paid, post without swearing, thats the way to go

you can make a Patreon if your following is big enough and willing. You'd be more successful with a Patreon rather than getting monetized

and dont post everything on the same day if you wanna get views

do you think new episode every Friday is a good schedule?

if theyre over 10 minutes remember to put mid rolls in

you can risk some swearing depending on how much youre using and how far through the video it is

Friday prolly the worst day to release cause that’s when ppl go out the most that’s why all

maybe hold off on the merch until you have an actual following (assuming you are new to uploading on youtube).

It’s usually a min order to get shirts printed so maybe wait until you have a good # of subscribers or something
