I don't consider myself a tech wizard or anything, maybe slightly above average but this s***, I've been at it all day and can't get a simple video file to play off my PS4.

After hours of trying to do a whole bunch of different things I finally see that I might have to change the partition scheme on the external HDD to get it to work on my PS4 but my HDD is too big for that particular scheme !!!!!!!

Upon learning that I went into full shambles.

I don't know if there's a way to get around that but I'm not even gonna try. I'm about to return it and see if I can just get a smaller HDD and if they don't take it back I'm gonna be so mad AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Have an external SSD for my Xbox One X and for some weird reason the video lags so bad smh...

You have to format the external hhd for ps4. If its an offbrand one youll probably need to make a partition.

I tried doing that it still didn’t work. I had to change the scheme to Master Boot Recorder but my external drive was too big.

It is without a doubt a pain in the ass (most harddrive stuff is).

I just got done exchanging it for a 1TB drive so hopefully that does it

it worked

a lot of external drives won't read and write at the same speeds as a built in hard drive so there lag, jitters, stutter etc
