Yeah it works that’s why I don’t smoke weed and drink every day or why healthy ppl (not me lol) have a “cheat day” and don’t just stop eating junk forever
It’s an oversimplification of managing your bad habits. It’s the ideal scenario- it definitely doesn’t work for everyone.
For some people, that advice is about as worthless as telling a clinically depressed person to just cheer up and stay positive.
It’s weird because I know people who can have a beer or two and chill, but give them a line and 4am comes around and they’re still trying to find people to throw in on another ball with them, and then I know people who can do coke/pills/whatever every once in a while and stay cool, but once they down that first shot, they WILL eventually be blacking out that night.
Depends on the activity, depends on the person

I used to drink like half a bottle of tequila a day. Now I drink 2-3 beers an I'm good. Difference between a raging alcoholic and a normal individual is moderation

yes but it depends on your personality, probably a good idea to go sober for a while before you try to moderate your use of anything

If you don't have an addiction in your genetics/personality, then possibly.
