    You said people only know the part after the beat switch on Sicko Mode. How would you even come to that conclusion without anecdotal evidence

    Same way you came to your conclusions about everything you said prior to you making it personal with

    “I’ve been in many settings where I’ve seen numerous people go word for word that entire song”

    I don't disagree, my point is that Drake has songs near, on, or above that level easily

    This is a whole other topic but I agree with this too, it does feel like a lot of his 2020s hits are driven by memes and very short viral moments

    Even beyond that a lot of the songs he’s just ass on ngl. Take knife talk for example

    I'd say Toosie Slide could count as one, not only cause it was a solid hit as is, but Fortnite and the whole lockdown era where there wasn't much going on in the culture helped it get to that status of a pretty big hit back then.

    I'm a huge Drake fan, but in general I'd agree that he doesn't have a God's Plan/One Dance/Hotline Bling type of a hit that permeated the mainstream in that way this decade yet. Average mainstream/pop music listeners here in Europe don't know what the hell Slime You Out or Jimmy Cooks is, but they will know almost every line from Hotline Bling, for instance.

    But the question is, does he even try to make that type of pop hit anymore tbh.

    He definitely got mega hits and actually managed to do many unprecedented things, as a rapper that other stars in other genres hadn’t, this decade

    Drake really is KD/Lebron rn. Every couple of weeks he’ll give you flashes of what he once was but overall he just doesn’t have that same burst to get to the basket so he settles for a jumper

    So Carnival is a super smash because of how long it spent at #1 on spotify but rich flex isn’t? S*** makes no sense, if you wanna say carnival is bigger than rich flex, i’ll give ya that but to act like rich flex wasn’t everywhere is disingenuous. The “21, can ya do something for me” part is obviously the biggest part of the song, but it isn’t the only part of the song people know. Folks ain’t gonna listen to a song for that long based off of 1 line

    I’ve already explained to you a thousand times why the numeric figure is lower. It has nothing to do with the song, everything to do with the state of the industry. If Drake dropped a new single right now it would not do Rich Flex numbers, because the industry is down.
