Yeah I listened to it over and over and caught something relating to him and his dad but I’m not familiar with his life
Wording just seemed like random s*** put together. The rap version of what Frank does sometimes lol
Just cause YOU don't understand it doesn't mean he's not saying anything, which is funny because his music since idls has been made with the goal of it being as simple to interpret as possible

To me it's like hes painting a picture with words like a vignette, like get the gist of what hes saying type s***. Its not that easy to interpret

It is not easy to interpret unless you want it to be
Not everyone approaching this is a die hard fan

It honestly reminds me of the book The Tartar Steppe
Does having SRS vibes make you Elite?? like I feel better than you, when I understand the soundscape and scene Thebe was trying to paint for himself. S*** was Nolan level. You are a different league If you appreciate the layers of this album...
I don’t know you sound pretentious
yo how do niggas like him and doom get away with just putting words together without them actually meaning anything a lot of the time.
Red water for example just sounds good bc of his delivery but it don’t actually mean anything lol
why niggas like earl and doom gotta get held to this standard? its like they gotta be expected to talk about s*** cus of their fanbases when in reality they just regular rappers over different production.

No I think y’all are reaching to find meaning based off sparse details you know about him and it’s vague enough to where it works for that lol

Because they’re propped up as lyrical artists but when you break it down imagine if Drake or Wayne said some of that s*** lol they’d be criticized for not saying s***. Moreso doom on that point
I like all artists mentioned tho just observation

Red Water is one of the best rap songs I’ve ever heard

They didn’t prop themselves up tho
Great album. Haven't listened to it much since
I played it every day multiple times for almost 6 months I don’t think I could ever listen to it again sadly
Feet of clay is really good though

Bruh the s*** is very straightforward, it's right there in the music, his "stans" are the ones who go out of their way to make it complex when it's not
srs was cool bro. that's it
I liked his last joint waay more

They be on some esoteric s***
Don’t think too hard bro lol

Nah it's pretty simple if you actually pay attention to lyrics in rap...which you should if you listen to rap music.
But in a time where someone like Yeat can get praised even though they literally don't be saying s*** I guess people get overwhelmed by niggas actually expressing thought and emotion in their lyrics.

It's really not. Having read these lyrics annotated on Genius back to front it's very different from my first impressions* - me who knew Earl's upbringing told in fragments throughout his discography
Please stop trying to reduce this to simplicity - you do Earl a disservice
