conservatives only have 1 strong belief: f*** the poor
the rest of what they believe is just to be edgy because someone told them they were funny when they were edgy at 13 and they want to recreate that feeling
you’re forgetting the conservatives who actually are poor, but don’t want anything regulated equally or provided for them because that’s against their “freedoms”
Conservatives in America are practically only conservative in name. I feel like capitalism itself is antithetical to conservative values and yet they worship that s*** for some reason

How does capitalism cater to traditionalism? How does big tech surveillance lend itself to individualism and freedom? What about the never ending need for labor leading to mothers working instead of serving the roles of homemaker and child carer, and the use of undocumented labor?

you answered a question with multiple questions 🥴

What do you mean bro, we quite obviously have data collection and a***ysis via smartphones and social media. Been known since Snowden. Companies wouldn’t have gotten to that power without laissez faire policy, a cornerstone and the lifeblood of capitalism. As well as government influence, another indirect attack on the conservative ideal of limited governmental power. As for family values, when you look at the average cost of a home and upkeep of children, wages do not add up. Meaning, both parents in the workplace. Meaning, the traditional role of the mother is severely limited. And companies always take advantage of undocumented labor with cheap wages. Which, I might add, is antithetical to the conservative take on border control.
So you’re saying, “it isn’t real Capitalism ”?

there are many forms of capitalism lol.
The USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Switzerland etc are all capitalist countries.
undocumented labor and big tech is not required under capitalism

They are consequences of the system being unchecked and unregulated. Anyway Canada, Denmark, Switzerland all adopted centralized economic policies that the average American conservative would call “Socialist”

My argument was capitalism is anticonservative, not sure how I veered off that. A free, unchecked market is fundamental to the ideal system of capitalism. You can't disagree with a definition. And then that free market as we've seen goes on to create a social system that is antithetical to those values. You're right I made a strawman tho, although it's also true that American Conservatives do vote for politicians en masse who use that exact kind of rhetoric

conservatives are authoritarian so no matter what they may say they dont want an unchecked market. a lot of them would even want religious regulations etc. but they still want capitalism. i dont see how u think captitalism is antithetical.
