It's a unique album in Kendrick's discography and in rap as a whole at a time when things are more homogenous than ever. It's a AAA rap release that isn't lowest common denominator. It's definitely not middling in any way

i agree it's not lowest common demoninator or anything, but like i said, it's fine. just because something has a high budget and a big platform doesn't make amazing by default. i agree it's unique vs its contemporaries but like i said, it's fine, i don't think it's anything mindbowling
