i feel like it depends on intentions. i feel like feeling the way i feel vs "im only attracted to white men because the men of my race are awful" or "i like latinas because they're spicy and have fat asses" is strange
Some girls and men do have genuine concerns over dating their race cause of their race problems.
A girl I knew in college stopped dating Asian men due to all the past traumas she dealt with beforehand. Now she got to deal that with therapy if she gonna trust another Asian guy.
It isn't right, but it explains why that happens with the "I don't date my race" rhetoric sometimes.

I’ve always been more into mixed Danileigh looking girls but that doesn’t mean that’s the only person I’ll ever be attracted to
I never thought much of south Asians and I ended up with a Pakistani girl
needless to say that attraction is multi-faceted and having an innate physical attraction to one particular set of people is not a big deal at all, it’s not the end all be all of who you’ll pursue
