My gf of over a year broke up with me bc of an argument on halloween (mostly my fault) We've had some arguments before but I guess that was what did it. We decided to stay friends and talked up until thanksgiving when she told me that she feels the only reason i'm willing to be her friend is bc I think theres still a chance we'll get back together (which is true) and she told me that it can't happen and that we need space to heal.

I love her but I have tbh, I acted a little desperate and I know that was a mistake. We're supposed to hang out on sunday, so my plan is to be chill af that day and then going no contact for like a month hoping she'll reach out. It's supposed to make them miss you while you work on yourself. What do you guys think? Have any of you guys tried it? Does it work? Or should I just let her go

What i would say tho is see what happens Sunday. The fact she’s down to chill with you is a good sign. But try your best not to come off as too desperate that day, just go into it with the mentality of “see what happens”

Did a similar thing when my gf of 2 years broke up with me last year @op except I waited a few months. Did not work and only made the pain of the breakup last longer. I recommend beginning the process of moving on. I know that's hard right now
