I’d bump a gay rapper if he made good music and didn’t speak about sucking d*** and taking it from the back
bumping a gay man
Let me play Devil’s advocate: there are no good gay rappers.
Lil Nas X and Makonnen are terrible rappers.
That's their gimmick for some like how many modern female rappers rap about their vagina. (It's cool but give us more variety around the topic of sex)
also aren't nas and Makonnen both bi?
are we just referring to queer people in general or?
They can't tell the difference
Gay rapping doesn’t represent the culture, they should start their own genre if they don’t like it. We ain’t rocking we people talking about sucking d*** and gettin their a****** plummed, f*** that s***
How I get banned for saying f@g and I like dudes but this man alive and the people who like this post? @Electric
Im telling

What's their gimmick,
What's their gimmick,
Some, not all. Some market themselves as openly rappers to gain fraction, which is great but then musically fall flat. I honestly have yet go to hear a good openly gay rapper. Put me on if you feel otherwise

No it isn't
Let me know when you find a gay rapper who rides beats as good as Drake or is as lyrical as Kendrick/Cole
F*** outta here with this s***ty thread
Queen Latifah
Missy Elliot
Da Brat
MC Lyte
But most celebrities in Hollywood are either privately LGBT or have done Gay acts for gigs and deals periodically.
Just about anyone who has experienced the entertainment industry who speaks on it from the outskirts have had experiences of being propositioned to do gay sexual acts as a gatekeeping measure.
I have to salute Nas X though for not using it as a selling point but I don't even know what to classify him as an artist. I don't even think he thought he would blow up the way he did.

The only gay rappers Ive ever heard are Nas X,Makonnen and Tyler. All of whom came out post success and didn't push a gimmick.
Lil Nas X fell off after because he's a 1 hit wonder and his song was on its way out
Also you forgot to mention BROCKHAMPTON

Well I don't mean them in particular, they only came out after the fact. The ones I'm talking about are still underground, like dude who made "throw that boy p****" had mad people upset, but apart from that song isn't really good. Next dude was a rapper freestyling to Charlemagne to make him uncomfortable (but we know C is dl) and the bars were trash. This is just based on my personal anecdote

Well said. What’s the discourse around them all being women? OP unintentionally raised the stigma against gay men in Rap while we’ve rebutted with gay women.
Are women more open with their sexuality or is the Black community more accepting of women’s sexuality? If the latter, why?
On one hand It's not a lie there's homophobia in rap
On the other the examples you posted are simply wack af. No one is listening to LiL Nas X bc he SUCKS. Not bc he came out (even tho it was known he was gay b4) Same way no one is listening to Blueface or other one hit wonders that stormed the charts bc of viral videos.
Young Thug, although he's not gay, wore a dress on his cover and he's still respected af
Frank Ocean is singing about his boyfriend and dudes are still bumping him daily
I'm an extremely strong supporter of LGBTQ+ community but you made me fcnk mad with trying to blame the downfall of LiL Nas X on the fact he's gay when this dude was done even b4 he went up...
Y’all making it into something it’s not, and Tyler’s bigger now in the culture than he’s ever been so
If you make good music people are gonna rock with you. If you don't, people won't. It's that simple
Neither white people, gay people nor woman started this culture. They gotta be extremely good if they want in, the door doesn’t get open up that easily.
as a nigga from the bronx, uhhhh they played a big part my g.

C married, son aint DL in the slightest. He just secure enough to play that s*** up for the audience because he knows how wild unprogressive and easily freaked out the hip hop audience is my g.
Joe Budden's the same way on his podcast. Son played that bobby lytes freestyle cause he knew his mans Mal would feel uncomfortable and he makes jokes based off that Azaelia Banks (for a shorty that claim to be an ally, no one talks about b**** been saying some homophobic things forever) picture that said he'd come out in 2022 'nahmena?
niggas bringing up Tyler and Frank is kinda confirming OP's point.
That's only 2 niggas. One of which aint even really a rapper, and the other one has never really come out and actually said it and keeps kinda tip toeing around it cause even son knows setting a firm stance is gonna lose some audience members.
I remember even in Igor thread on KTT OG some niggas saying that Tyler is just trolling my g.
