On the album’s wikipedia it says:

I want balance in my music. I'm not a guy that's just about to give you one sound. That's so boring and lame to me. That's my biggest regret with Blank Face. Besides a couple songs, I just made the whole album pretty dark. I regret that so much. Why did I do that?”

Idk what he talking about it’s probably his best album and CrasH Talk was so much worse

He ranked Blank Face 2nd in his discography, below only an album that had just dropped, so

He was salty over it getting so much acclaim but not being commercially successful (That Part aside) at the time. He flip flopped after Crash Talk got pooped on collectively and didn’t do anything commercially.

I think he’s saying as a listening experience for him, it’s not what he wanted despite all the acclaim cause he can’t do what he likes to do which is perform for fans and have fun

it was more so he didnt like how fans clambered to it being his best album (for whatever reason lmao it is) so he made crash talk as an antithesis to it making it all mainstream soundy

i think he went back on that opinion after blue lips came out and ranks it higher now though

Sonically no, but this was the album Q said he always wanted to make after Blank Face. He even admitted that Crash Talk was nothing more than a cash grab album and the quality of the album reflected it

Crash Talk wasn’t even that bad but songs like Chopstix and Lies bring the quality of the album down considerably lol

only major difference is he's just straight rapping on blue moreso than the effects and singing from blank
